The National Course Series contributes towards building national capacity for community based disaster risk management. These community based courses are integral in communicating latest local, national and international knowledge and experience to key actors in the field of disaster preparedness.

• The National Course Series brings the most recent local and regional experiences to key actors in the field. Disaster managers and individuals with field experience, who are designing, implementing and evaluating humanitarian projects, are invited to the courses. Participants are members of national governments, donors, students and civil society representatives involved in disaster mitigation and preparedness.
• Each course is addressed to meet specific needs.
• Contents are reviewed by practitioners and experts.
• Post course services are provided on priority basis.
• Systems for review, evaluation and follow-up ensures that the training modules for each National Course are up-to-date and relevant.
